EXPEDITION TEXTThis is a flower falling apart and dying overtime. Which is a symbol of me a Full IB student. This is how I am feeling senior year like I have a little bit of energy left in me. Yet I will stand all and make it through pull through and be strong.

Block print
Growth 9/4/19 ProcessI took water based ink and a metal slab, a Brayer, and a Baron. I started this process by putting water based ink on the metal slab and rolling it with the Brayer. when it was evenly spread I started rolling the ink onto the linoleum slab that I cut my design into with a Brayer. I made sure that the ink was evenly coated on the linoleum slab. After I coated the linoleum plate with ink, I then took a piece of drawing paper and placed it on top of the linoleum plate. I then used the plastic Barron to press the paper into the linoleum plate to create a print. I preferred the plastic Barron as opposed to the Bamboo one because I was able to press harder and with more control.
ExperimentationFor this I applied the ink many times to get different prints sometimes the ink was to dark sometimes to light. There was even one time Where the lines weren't defined.

Reflection |
planning |
Overall it was a good project I was a little upset with how some of my prints turned out with them being to light some not having enough detail. Making me have to go back and fix the actually block before I could even print again. There was a point where I was going to try and put them all on a bored to they stay together, but I felt it took away from how it looked if they ere really close. I put the idea of a triptych and block print together its four pictures telling one story, yet its so thick and making it stand out. I wanted to put the thought of two different art techniques together applying them into one.
INSPIRATION
|
These are some of my sketches from what my idea was. I am a person who likes to always change my idea so it never really ends up turning out like I plan. What I did was combine both ideas into one.
